What Can I Expect?

After a thorough consultation, your Laser Technician will examine the area to be treated and go over any possible risks, side effects and contraindications depending on your skin type, product use and history. It is important to note that sun damage is different than melasma and a referral from a Dermatologist may be required. If it is determined that laser is not the best method to remove the sun damage, we will discuss other options available. In most cases, a test spot is performed during the consultation, and follow-up visit is scheduled to complete a full treatment. During the treatment, a specific KTP/532 wavelength is used to identify the target pigment and fragment the melanin cells. Immediately after treatment, the spot(s) will have a slight redness and edema, similar to a superficial burn wound. The treated areas will appear 2-4 shades darker for 3-14 days, then the melanin particles will peel or slough off, leaving you with youthful and rejuvenated skin. 

This mild procedure can be completed in as little as 15 minutes! Topical numbing cream is available, but generally not required because a cryo-cooling system is used for comfort and reduction of thermal disturbance.
